Audition Information
Below you will find audition information and details, character breakdowns and our 2025 season audition schedule.

All Auditions Are Open to the Public.
Auditions start promptly at 7:00 pm, unless otherwise posted.  Please allow enough time upon arrival to register and be seated in auditorium.
Most Auditions are held on the Main Stage at 331 Main Street.
Registration opens at 6:30 in the lobby area.
Video auditions are not accepted.

For Musicals
*Everyone must bring a prepared song showing their vocal range.
16 bars or no more than 2 minutes.
*You must have accompaniment tracks to your song. 
*Everyone will be shown choreography to perform with the group. 
(sandals or any type of open-toed footwear are not permitted on stage)
*If auditioning for a certain role, you may be asked to do additional singing,
readings and/or dance.
*You will be given a script to do a cold reading with others auditioning.  
*Some vocal auditions may be held privately with the casting committee.

Book Plays
*Director will have cold readings from the script.
*May be some improvisation involved depending on show and director.


Age requirements for adult productions are 17 and up unless noted for a specific role that requires a younger age or have a direct request from the Director.

Wizard of Oz
OPEN AUDITIONS
Sept 7th & 8th at 7pm

Please arrive early to allow enough time to register and be seated by specified time. Bring your own instrumental track that can be played from phone via bluetooth. (no accompanist will be provided) In addition, have comfortable clothing and shoes for dance portion of audition. (Roles intended to be doubled are indicated with a slash.) Age ranges are suggestions only. We will consider all interested.

DOROTHY GALE Female, 14-20 (Vocal Range: Mezzo Soprano) Age flexible based on appearance. She is a sweet, innocent young lady with a streak of boldness, outspoken and headstrong, who dearly loves her family, friends and dog, Toto; Lives on a farm in Kansas with her Aunt Em & Uncle Henry, but dreams of escaping to a far-off place where she will not get into any trouble.

AUNT EM/GLINDA Female, 30-50 (Vocal Range: Soprano) Aunt Em is a typical, hard-working farmer’s wife who is firm & no-nonsense but also warm and caring. Glinda, The Good Witch of the North who is the mother figure for Munchkins and Dorothy whom she guides through Oz; Delicate and graceful.

UNCLE HENRY/EMERALD CITY GUARD Male, 40-50 (Vocal Range: Tenor/Baritone) Uncle Henry is an adoring uncle to Dorothy. The Emerald City Guard is the first comical character Dorothy meets in Emerald City.

PROFESSOR CHESTER MARVEL/THE WIZARD OF OZ Male, 30-50 (Vocal Range: Tenor/Baritone) Traveling salesman who lives by telling fortunes; a con-man but with a good heart.

HUNK, A FARMHAND/THE SCARECROW Male, 20s - 40s (Vocal Range: Baritone) Hunk is a goofy farmhand who works for the Gales. The Scarecrow quickly befriends Dorothy on the road to Oz. He has more brains than he gives himself credit for. This role calls for strong stage movement with good comedic instincts.

ZEKE, A FARMHAND/THE COWARDLY LION Male, 20s - 40s (Vocal Range: Baritone) Zeke is a big-talking farmhand who works for the Gales. The Cowardly Lion befriends Dorothy on the road to Oz. He has more courage than he gives himself credit for. This role calls for a physical comedian who sings and moves well.

HICKORY – Farmhand / TINMAN (Baritone/Tenor. Range: Bb2-G4) 20s-40’s, Hickory is a cranky, bossy farmhand who works for the Gales. The Tin Man befriends Dorothy on the road to Oz. He has more heart than he gives himself credit for. This role requires some dancing with good comedic instincts.

MISS GULCH/THE WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST Female, 30s - 50s (Vocal Range: Mezzo Soprano) Well-off, cold-hearted neighbor who hates Toto. The wicked Witch of the West is the manifestation of Dorothy’s outlook on Miss Gulch.

VARIETY OF ENSEMBLE/CHORUS ROLES opportunities for ages 17+, All ensembles will require singing and some dance/movement skills. Ensemble utilized in the following capacities: CITIZENS OF MUNCHKINLAND TREES CROWS OZIANS POPPIES SNOWMEN WINKIES JITTERBUGS
